AFTER 8 YEARS, I DID IT!

THE ASIA KAY

After 8 years of being in this business I finally made the jump!!

Going to Cosmetology school in High school because I refused to go to regular college. I made my "make believe" salon name during class one day. It was Asia Kay Beauty - where everyone is royal. And as you can see it basically stuck this whole time.

Most beauticians quit after 7 years - because there is only so much you can put out and give with just being marginally paid and put up with it. Nothing wrong with that! Follow the path that you are feeling called to at a given time and never pressure yourself. But with that being said - it is LUCKY to see ones that go past 7 years.

When I went to school I had my dreams in mind of what I wanted to accomplish but now that I am 8 years in and have done everything that I had on that list that I wanted to do - I knew it was time to move on. My soul wasn't getting fed anymore from the work I was doing. So now what??

Welcome to my 2019! The year of shift!! I re-branded my colors and vibe to fit my personality more - and as of last week - CHANGED MY NAME! Hell that was the hardest of them all. Going from Asia Kay Beauty to The Asia Kay was harder than you would think but it felt so right. Sitting down with my new marketing manager we new that having "beauty" in my name was no longer serving its purpose. I wanted to shift the direction of my brand to be more a coaching and support community rather than a beauty provider. Granted I still do lashes but I have separated my pages to The Asia Kay and Asia Kay Salon so that my assistants and I are still able to have that income and reach!

I have hid my voice and thoughts throughout a lot of my life - and that is no longer going to be the case. Changing the name of the brand - even if its a slight change - is allowing me to step fully into my growth and where I want to go!

It is always interesting having to work with yourself. We are all able to help each other out eagerly but when was the last time you took your own advice and went into yourself and listened to what your intuition was trying to tell you and help you with? It will be hard and uncomfortable to do at first, but once you get the ball rolling - it will forever change the way you live!!

NAMASTE friends :)
